Wildflowers is a painting series by Isobel Brigham, started in 2025, referencing archival wildflower cards. Each painting, 35cm x 70cm, captures a different flower, representing growth, rebirth, morning, and loss. In each painting, the flower stands strong and alone, filling the whole canvas, showcasing its power. With her signature pink backgrounds and bold brushstrokes, the paintings encompass the archival past while remaining fresh and exciting.
Flowers are timeless, and in the 20th century, were reinterpreted in art to explore ones perception and emotion in human experience. Contemporary art takes this further and blends traditional imagery with new techniques, exploring issues such as identity and environment.
